La Gloria Cubana

La Gloria Cubana cigars have a long and storied history dating back to that small island in the Caribbean. It was first rolled back in the 1880s and moved around to several owners and factories throughout Havana until it was finally purchased by the Cifuentes family and moved to their Partagas factory in the 1950s. It didn’t have the glitz and glamour of its Cuban cigar contemporary’s like The Montecristo Cuban or the Cohiba Cuban. However, even today, true Cuban aficionados flock to the La Gloria Cubana Cubans. With Cuban cigars being illegal in the united states, most American cigar smokers are probably more familiar with the Dominican version of this amazing cigar.

The La Gloria Cubana Cigar line was revamped outside of Cuba by one of the worlds most legendary blenders in the world, Ernesto Perez Carrillo. Under Eps guidance, the brand became one of the most popular full body cigars during the cigar boom of the 1990s and early 2000s. His creation of the La Gloria Cubana Series R lead it to be considered one of the best cigars of the decade.

EP Carrillo eventually sold La Gloria Cubana Cigars to the General Cigar company, the makers of such big brands as Punch Cigars, Cohiba Cigars, and Hoyo de Monterrey Cigars. The brand continued to thrive under Generals tenure and is still one of the best selling Dominican cigars in the country.

As a treat to their loyal customers and as homage to the brands origins, General Cigar collaborated with EP Carrillo on a new La Gloria Cubana Cigar known as the La Gloria Cubana Coleccion Reserva By E.P. Carrillo.

From the original La Gloria Cubana Cuban cigar to the modern, edgy Dominican, this continues to be a fan favorite and one of our top picks here at Cigars.com
