San Cristobal

Many of the cigars you know and love today have Cuban origins. Brands such as Cohiba, Montecristo, and Romeo y Julieta all originally hailed from that small Caribbean island. While many people are already aware of this, there are several smaller boutique lines that are also rich in Cuban history. One of our favorites here at Cigars.com is the legendary San Cristobal. While it was and still is a fan favorite boutique line from Cuba, the Nicaraguan version has seen a huge growth in popularity over the past few years.

Pepin Garcia and the My Father team have created some of the worlds best cigars over the last decade. From their name brand lines to their work with Tatuaje, they are one of the highest rated cigars in the country and a mainstay in every aficionados humidor. When looking to expand their sun brands, Ashton looked to the Garcia family to bring the San Cristobal to the American Market.

The original Nicaraguan San Cristobal was immensely strong. Its oily Nicaraguan Habano wrapper adds a tremendous amount of pepper and spice while its aged filler and binder tobaccos give a smooth and subtle center.

Since its inception, the Garcia version of the San Cristobal has come out with several line expansions. For a solid medium body with a lot of complexity, you should look at the San Cristobal Revelation. If a smooth, luxury cigar is more your speed, there’s the fantastic San Cristobal Elegancia.

Like many of the My Father and Ashton brands, they really like to focus on quality and diversity. In the San Cristobal portfolio, there is a cigar for every palet, so make sure to pick yours up today.
