February 2023 Perfect Pairings

It’s the heart of February and Winter is here with full vengeance, especially in the colder Northeastern states. Therefore, to tackle those frosty winter blues we created five Perfect Pairings to warm your spirits and soothe the soul. For those living in warmer climates, our choices will provide some must-try beer and cigar couplings to enjoy after a refreshing dip in the pool or a night out on the town.

Macchiato Espresso Milk Stout & Nub Nuance Double Roast

This is a combo that can be enjoyed by the fireplace with good friends in February or on an abnormally cold evening in the warmer states. Macchiato Espresso Milk Stout is a Sweet / Milk Stout style beer brewed by Abita Brewing Co. in Covington, LA. This tasty brew combines the rich flavor of roasted coffee with added coffee creamer, backed by hints of walnuts and caramel.

Nub Nuance Double Roast 3x54 is a coffee-inspired premium cigar that offers delicious, medium- to -full-bodied flavors of sweetened espresso, leather, hazelnut, and hints of chocolate. With similar flavor profiles,  Macchiato Espresso and Milk Stout & Nub Nuance Double Roast 3x54 is the ideal Perfect Pairing that offers a double dose of delicious creamy smooth flavors.

Troegs Independent Brewing Joyous IPA & Macanudo Inspirado Orange

Troegs,  Independent Brewing Joyous IPA  is a highly popular  American craft-style beer brewed in Hershey, PA.,  that offers a mouthwatering journey of tropical flavors. Sip this golden brow IPA, and expect to be greeted with soft notes of creamy malt,  citrus, wheat, and coconuts.

Combining this decadent IPA with Macanudo Inspirado Orange Robusto cigars is nothing short of scrumptious.  Inspirado Orange Robusto is a beautifully constructed premium cigar that offers complex notes of leather, earth, coffee, and hints of citrus zest,  all delivered in a smooth medium- to bodied fashion.

At your next February smoking and drinking session,  Bring your family and friends in from the freezing cold and take the chill out of winter with this warm and tantalizing Caribbean-style combo.

River Horse Brewing Co. Roly Poly Pils & Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua

Roly Poly Pils is a Bohemian / Czech Pilsner-style beer brewed by River Horse Brewing Co. in Ewing, NJ. Just like you’d expect from a Czech Style Pilsner, the blend uses rare  Pilsen Czech hops to give a slightly sweet, toasted biscuit flavor that melds with some spicy bitterness, and hints of brown sugar. This popular brew couples perfectly with the rich complex flavors of the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua Demi.

These premium cigars are a  modern recreation of the first Cuban Montecristo cigars that were first launched in 1935. To celebrate the brand's 85- years in the biz,  the elite Grupo of Maestros, AUSA brand ambassador Rafael Nodal, and famous cigarmaker AJ Fernandez worked together to provide a Nicaraguan puro that’s nothing short of spectacular! Medium- to full-bodied, Demi serves up mouthwatering flavors of wood, coffee, cinnamon, and spice, all enhanced with a long-lasting sweet tobacco finish.

This February, you won’t need an excuse to get out on the heated patio with a brew and a stick that complement each other so splendidly.

Wheatland Spring Brewery West Crib &Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas

West Crib is an  American Lager style beer brewed by Wheatland Spring Farm Brewery in Waterford, VA. It’s a medium-strength craft beer that offers notes of peppery spice, orange blossom, and graham cracker, that finishes with some crispy citrus tones.

This brew combined with the Rocky Patel Vintage 2006 San Andreas Short Gordo cigar, is one that offers pure enjoyment during the winter months or any other time of the year.

Light this decadent Short Gordo from Rocky and expect a medium-bodied smoke whose notes of pepper, leather, sweet spice, chocolate, and caramel,  provide a perfect companion for a frosty cold mug of Wheatland Spring Brewery West Crib.
