Pappy Van Winkle Tradition

Pappy Van Winkle is seen as the crown jewel of the bourbon world. With a distinguished history that goes back over 100 years, Pappy Van Winkle has become the most sought after bourbon in America. They limit their production and distribution, making it all the more desired by whiskey aficionados. Jonathan Drew, founder of Drew Estate, is well known for being a whiskey man. He even recently came out with his own whiskey line, Jihn Drew Brands, which offers a Mash and a Rye. It only makes sense that if a cigar company was going to collaborate with the Van Winkle family on a new blend, it would be Drew Estate. The first offering was known as the Pappy Van Winkle Barrel Fermented line. They were quite limited and only available through the Van Winkle company. Wishing to bring this cigar to a larger base, Drew Estate and their master blender Willy Herrera have created a new cigar that bares the Pappy name.

The Pappy Van Winkle Tradition has quite a story to it. Before Willy began working for Drew Estate, he was visiting their factory. He began to play around with some of their tobaccos and created a cigar that was immediately an intercompany favorite. Several years later when they began the process for the new Pappy Van Winkle, this was the blend they chose.

This medium bodied treat is hand rolled with a stunning Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper, followed by an Indonesian binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. It is smooth and rich in flavor with notes of cocoa, nuts and a slight sweetness.

This profile makes it an ideal companion for Pappy Van Winkle. This bourbon is smooth and flavorful with a terrific aroma and rich notes of nuts a little spice and a hint of sweetness. The tradition of the legendary Pappy Van Winkle continues now with this outstanding new cigar.
