RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cigar Review

The RoMa Craft CroMagnon is one of the most popular lines in the RoMa Craft brand. In this CroMagnon cigar review, I will discuss the blend, strength, and flavors experienced throughout this very special and ever-popular smoke.

What is the history of Roma Craft?

RoMa Craft was established by well-known blenders, Skip Martin and Michael Rosales, back in 2012. The brand took the boutique cigar industry by storm and has never failed to create popular and unique smokes.

The talented duo expertly roll the cigars in Nicaragua, taking an incredible amount of care and precision during the process; emphasizing the brand's attention to detail.

In fact, the company has a saying named “the three Ts”, which stands for “talent, time, and tobacco”. The philosophy is represented through the entire company, with each cigar finding a place among some of the most respected smokes on the market.

Before COVID, you would find many of its stogies at trade shows up and down the country, all of which are consistently well-received upon release. Besides the RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cranium, here are two other cigars that RoMa Craft is famous for.

RoMa Craft Neanderthal

The RoMa Craft Neanderthal is a premium cigar that is perfect for someone craving a strong and powerful smoke with complexity.

The cigar boasts a San Andres Maduro wrapper, a Connecticut broadleaf binder and Pennsylvania double Ligero filler blend. The amount of focus that went into this cigar is represented through the intense flavors and impressive construction.

The cigar has a variety of forms, here are some of the cigars from this line:

Throughout this CroMangnon cigar review, we will be focusing on the RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cranium.

How is the cigar constructed?

The RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cranium boasts a US Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, a Cameroon binder, and filler tobaccos from three regions in Nicaragua.

Not only does this impressive construction show the attention to detail on this cigar, but it also aids the fantastic flavors experienced throughout the smoke.

What should I expect from the cold draw?

The cold draw of the RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cranium has elements of citrus with undertones of cedar and notes of earthy tones. There are lots of unique flavors for a pre-light, which should tempt any smoker into trying more.

The flavors in the RoMa Craft CroMagnon?

As in the cold draw, there is a huge variety of flavors experienced throughout the RoMa Craft CroMagnon Cranium.  Here is an insight into the rich flavors I enjoyed throughout my smoke.

First third

During the first third of the cigar, the earthy undertones remain with more citrus notes. I sensed a hint of caramel, which blended perfectly with the earth and citrus.

As the first third came to an end, the salted caramel disappeared and was replaced with subtle leather and pepper notes.

Second third

Moving on to the second third, the notes of salted caramel returned! The caramel flavors were combined with subtle hints of cinnamon and coffee, which made for a well-balanced retrohale.

Final third

In the final third of the cigar, the coffee notes came at the forefront of the cigar, with the earth and leather acting as the perfect undertones.

What is the strength of this cigar like?

This cigar has a medium to full strength and is perfect for those searching for an intense and powerful smoke.

Final thoughts

The RoMa Craft CroMagnon line has a huge selection of incredible cigars that are sure to impress with their complex flavor combinations.

The brand creates a perfect balance of modern and traditional with this line, and they are perfect for any level of cigar smoker.

I certainly look forward to seeing what Skip and Michael have in store for future releases.
