The Las Calaveras is Crowned Heads’ annual love letter to people close to the brand. The name translates to “the skulls,” drawing inspiration from the Day of the Dead traditions, or Dia de Muertos, where participants celebrate rather than mourn those who’ve passed. Since 2014, they’ve delivered something new in their Las Calaveras series, including the 2025 limited-edition cigar. They’ve managed to do something unique this time around. They selected a mid-priming San Andres leaf that is brighter than most Mexican wrappers. It also completely changes how the cigar smokes. Where darker San Andres wrappers might throw heavier pepper and earthy flavors, this Colorado-shaded wrapper allows the flavors to be fully appreciated. The San Andres wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and all-Nicaraguan filler.
