The HVC Edicion Especial 2015 series debuted nearly a decade ago and remained in production until 2024. The timing of its comeback aligns with the series 10th anniversary which adds special significance to this updated release for fans who enjoyed the original. The core recipe remains faithful to what worked before, but HVC made specific tweaks to complement the new box-pressed shape. The cigar features the same Mexican San Andres wrapper around a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa and Esteli valleys. Each region brings its own unique character to this cigar and allows the bold and nuanced flavors to shine in this medium-to-full-bodied experience. San Andres wrappers are prized for their deep and rich character, and this Mexican leaf provides that foundation here. The Nicaraguan interior builds the blend’s core with notes of sweetness, pepper, wood, and earthiness evolving throughout. The formula modifications for the box-pressed design help this combo work together and keep it faithful to the original. All while letting you explore the cigar’s nuanced complexity deeper than before. The re-release includes four standard production sizes plus one limited-time exclusive. The are the HVC Edicion Especial 2015 Corona Gorda 5.62x46, El Grandote 6x60, the Toro 6x54, Short Robusto 4.50x52, and the limited-edition Especiales 6.5x48. Each cigar comes packed in boxes of 20. The Especiales were made with strict production limits. The brand manufactured only 1,000 boxes and brought to market in boxes of 10. Anyone who loved HVC’s Edicion Especial 2015’s previous releases will find this revamped edition worth exploring. Whether you want to stock your humidor with their regular production cigars or secure some of the scarce Especiales before they disappear, make sure you grab your box at Cigars.com.
