CAO Pilon

The folks at CAO do more than just create amazing cigars that are creative, innovative, and good-looking as well. When thinking of a new blend, they decided to try a very old-fashioned method of tobacco fermentation. A pilon, the stack of fermenting tobacco, is usually arranged in big square piles. When creating this delicious smoke, the leaf was stacked in big circular piles, an age-old custom used in Cuba in the 19th century. By doing this, the tobacco is fermented more slowly but its flavor and smoothness are enhanced. It is a simple blend using vintage Nicaraguan long-filler and binder tobaccos; the point was to turn normal Nicaraguan leaf into something special with this unique process. Its delicious Ecuadorian Habano wrapper adds the perfect amount of rich spice to the blend. Try out the Pilon and see what a difference it makes.
