Inspired by a wave of Chinese New Year-themed cigars hitting the market, the Year of Duque 2025 takes a different spin on the concept. Instead of celebrating the Chinese zodiac, Steve Saka is using this new annual series to recognize the people who’ve helped shape Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust from the inside out. The first release honors Chris Duque, a long-time supporter who’s spent years promoting DTT everywhere he goes. This cigar takes the best ideas of the Sobremesa Solita and Todos Las Dias line and mashes them together. Rolled in a 5x48 Parejo at Joya de Nicaragua, it’s dressed in a reddish Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper with a glowing oily sheen. Underneath, a gritty San Andres binder holds a gusty mix of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania fillers. Notes of creamy malt, chocolate, dried dates, and peppers dominate the medium-bodied experience.
