Oliva Serie V Double Robusto Box Pressed as the name implies, was a beautifully box pressed premium cigar that comes cloaked in a silky smooth reddish-hue Ecuadorian Sun Grown Habano wrapper. Underneath this impressive leaf is a Nicaraguan binder and dark ligero Nicaraguan fillers that were all grown on the black volcanic soils of the countries fertile Jalapa Valley region. I purchased a 10-pack of these cigars and every stick had evenly colored wrappers, was solidly packed, and were very consistent in flavor. First light was met with a peppery blast and hints of sweetness, soon followed by notes of leather, spice, and cocoa. These three core flavors remained throughout the duration of the smoke, with some peppery tones and sweetness now lingering in the background. I’d highly recommend Oliva Serie V Double Robusto Box Pressed cigars to anyone in search of a full bodied and full flavored smoke that’s highly complex, well-refined, and never becomes harsh or overwhelming.
