These beauties feature Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos that have been aged in bales for 10 years, and aged again for two more in oak bourbon barrels. Therefore, to say these cigars are smooth would be an understatement! The cigar has a thick and oily maduro wrapper that is licorice-black in color and burns extremely slowly. The construction is immaculate, making it feel very solid in the hand. Upon lighting, the stick delivered mountains of billowy smoke and a tapestry of inviting medium-bodied flavors. I could easily detect undertones of bourbon mixed in with velvety notes of caramel, cedar, and toffee. Double Aged 12 Year is another winner from the Perdomo family, and one that serious enthusiasts owe to themselves to try.
