The hefty 6.25 x 58 Pledge by EP Carrillo Apogee cigars featured a rich, dark, and seamless Connecticut Habano maduro wrapper atop and Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan long fillers. Each cigar in the box had evenly colored wrappers and boasted flawless construction. Upon lighting, I detected a medium-to-full bodied smoke that started off with a bold peppery kick, soon followed by less intense, silky smooth flavors of chocolate, earth, leather, and cocoa. The cigar burned evenly from start to finish and held a nice firm ash all the way through. Every stick in the box provided consistently great flavors. I will definitely be stocking up on more boxes of Pledge by EP Carrillo Apogee cigars as I’m both a fan of rich, bold, well made maduros along with enjoying cigars with a larger -ring gauges.
